Designlab is looking for a Design Lead to join our team and help us take our industry-leading UX Academy bootcamp, learning platform, and future products to the next level.

In this Design Lead role, you will help our team envision, ship, and iterate on the design of products and learning experiences that have meaningful impact for our community and business. Our Design Lead will also ensure design quality and consistency across all of our user journeys, from product awareness and consideration all the way through to new products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality of design outcomes from start to finish of the UX/UI design process across our products and growth initiatives
  • Directly manage our team of designers, helping them to perform at their best and grow in their careers 😎
  • Build out our holistic design capabilities in UX/UI design, learning content design, and growth design
  • Help guide and direct UX/UI design and research projects, with hands-on design work as needed
  • Work with cross-functional partners to create design-related OKRs and own our design backlog
  • Demonstrate the impact of the team’s design work on key product and business metrics
  • Contribute thought leadership about UX design to our student and mentor community
  • Work with your design peers and across teams to achieve goals no one could have done alone

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience working as a UX/UI designer, ideally working with or on in-house product design teams
  • 1+ years of experience in managing designers, ideally as part of an in-house design team
  • Strong skills in partnering with cross-functional teams to envision and deliver well-designed software products, learning content, and growth marketing initiatives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Mastery of product design tools such as Figma, Framer, Mural, and Whimsical
  • Ability to work remotely with high speed internet access
