I have tried to find an example of all four, Bold, Beauty, Kitsch and Trash, as Oliver Reichenstein points out in the 3rd section of this unit.
BEAUTY http://www.poppin.com/ - This website is not only aesthetically pleasing, all visual aspects of the site are functional. For instance: Below the "Poppin" header, there is a bar of colors, that not only communicates the ten colors that every product comes in, when clicked, it redirects to a landing page that displays all of the products available in that color.
KITSCH http://www.brandymelvilleusa.com/ - Although the overall appearance and aesthetic are not offensive, the usability of the site is lacking. For example: the implementation of endless scrolling has made the links in the footer completely inaccessible until you have completely scrolled through all available products (which is a lot!).
TRASH http://www.bolenreport.com/ - Not only is this site difficult to read due to the mishmash of colors and fonts, it duplicates much that could very well be consolidated. The three "feature article"s could very well been consolidated into their own page. The search function and other links opening themselves in new pages in order to be used is also disconcerting.
BOLD www.craigslist.com - There's really not much that I can say about this site other than the fact that it is visually unappealing yet effective and straightforward in the way that it is to be used and functions.
