One of the many things we’ve learned while running courses on Designlab is the importance of 1-on-1 sessions. Students repeatedly tell us that speaking with their mentor is the most valuable (and enriching) part of the Designlab experience. So, we’ve been committed to making it as easy as possible to set up & coordinate these sessions for all parties involved. Our latest improvement is the addition of calendar subscription URLs. Once you add your unique subscription URL to your calendar of choice (Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook, etc.), your calendar will automatically keep itself up to date with the Designlab session scheduling system. If you and your mentor decide to reschedule a session, this change is first reflected on Designlab and soon after on your calendar :) Best of all, it only takes a few seconds to set up! If you’re a student, either grab your subscription URL during course onboarding or by viewing your upcoming session information as shown below:

If you’re a mentor, you can get your subscription URL at the bottom of the “My Sessions” section on your dashboard as shown below:

If you use Apple Calendar, just click the link we provide and your browser should prompt you to launch the application. For Google Calendar users, just copy & paste the URL into the box that shows up after you click “Add by URL” in the “Other calendars” dropdown menu as shown below:

Finally, here’s an extra tip for Google Calendar users: If you want your Designlab session calendar to sync with your iPhone, you may need to enable it on the Google Calendar Sync Settings page — here’s a link for convenience:

With a calendar subscription, hopefully you can more easily stay on top of your 1-on-1 sessions on Designlab and can get more out of our courses. As always, if you have any feedback or suggestions for us, just send an email to

— we’re all ears!
